- www.christinajamesllc.com - My goal is to make clients feel supported, heard, and understood as they take the commendable step to start therapy. I believe each person holds instinctive wisdom about what they want and need for a healthy life, and that therapy is a wonderful way to bring this to the surface. As a therapist who holds white, hetero, and cis gender privilege, I am committed to ongoing self-reflection and accountability about how this privilege may show up in our therapy, in order to make this a safe environment. The majority of my 20+ years of clinical experience has been with individuals and couples dealing with a range of issues including childhood trauma, addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties, among others. I believe in a mind/body approach to treatment, and that the strength of our therapy relationship can be healing. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago and have completed Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level II, a body-oriented therapy for safely exploring trauma symptoms, as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy ("EFT") for couples. Clients have described me as caring, non-judgmental and compassionate, and that I use humor at helpful times.
