About

I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people become their best selves. I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Together we will explore your strengths; the ones you know and the ones you haven't discovered yet. We will harness those strengths to work through past trauma or other difficulties and overcome present challenges to create your best self. As a board-certified registered art therapist, I believe that understanding and healing can often be found outside of words.

As a board-certified registered art therapist, I believe that understanding and healing can often be found outside of words. Sometimes the words aren't quite right, or enough, to explore what we know or feel. By creating art, we can explore thoughts, feelings and experiences more richly.

I find art is especially helpful with children. Often, the kids I work with may not have the words they need to tell me what they are feeling or thinking. But they can draw it. Or use fabric or color to communicate what is going on inside. We can also build a deeper awareness of their triggers, and become empowered to use new, constructive coping tools.
