Hi, I’m Carrie. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Hawaii. I help young adults and adults cope with and manage symptoms relating to ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, and trauma. My approach is tailored to each client and their individual goals and needs. Some therapeutic interventions include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, somatic and trauma-informed, and exposure response prevention. My communication style is warm, nonjudgmental, comforting, and humorous. I strive to create a safe place for my clients to openly express themselves. I began my journey many years ago (almost 12 years!) while working for a court-ordered dual diagnosis rehab in Southern California. I noticed the lack of therapeutic interventions and a heavy reliance on behavioral modification. I witnessed how this negatively affected the clients and knew there were more effective approaches. I decided to go back to school so that I could learn more about mental health and evidence-based interventions. I am driven and motivated when comes to helping other people thrive instead of surviving.
