Hi! My name is Carmi Ruiz and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I'm based in Washington state and licensed in both California and Washington but I'm working statewide with California clients via telehealth. I work with adults and older adults, and I specialize in PTSD, anxiety and depression. My specialty population has historically been military, from active duty to spouse, to Veteran, however I also enjoy working with general population. I also work primarily with BIPOC clients as I am also BIPOC and can understand unique issues that these clients face. I'm bi-racial, Japanese/Peruvian and have immigrant parents. I'm comfortable treating trauma and I work collaboratively with clients as they work to gain a better understanding of themselves and help them face things they may have avoided. I've been in the career of Social Services for about 20 years, starting with working with at-risk youth. As I completed schooling and chose to become a social worker, I realized that I really wanted to work closely with people to really help them heal their trauma.
