My treatment approach combines the latest advances in Western neuroscience with evidence-based mindfulness practices rooted in Eastern philosophies. I primarily utilize two complementary modalities - Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These are evidenced based and trauma-informed treatments that aim to address the root causes of psychological suffering rather than simply addressing the outlying symptoms. I will work collaboratively with you to identify protective parts that have worked well in the past but are no longer helpful (i.e. avoidance, substance use, perfectionism, self-criticism, obsessive thinking, passivity, workaholism, self-harm), and to allow these parts to step aside so that you can heal from underlying pain. I place great value and emphasis on building our relationship so that you feel safe enough to enact the changes you wish make. My job is to understand how you view and understand your world, and to adapt my skill set and expertise to fit that world. I am passionate about the work that I do and look forward to hearing from you.
