About

Thank you for visiting my profile. I recognize counseling as a process in which the client and counselor develop a relationship to explore and define the client’s presenting problem. I believe it is essential for both parties to work as a team to examine client issues and to develop counseling goals to improve client welfare. It is my goal to create an environment, which provides warmth, genuineness, and understanding toward the client. Establishing and maintaining a rapport is essential for effective counseling to transpire. Trust and mutual respect are also needed components to enhance the counseling experience.

I approach counseling from an eclectic perspective with a great emphasis on cognitive-behavioral outlooks. My concern in the beginning is establishing a relationship with the client so he/she feels safe to disclose information that will be pertinent to the therapeutic experience.

I have a tremendous amount of experience in Marriage and Family Counseling. I also have an expertise in dealing with adolescent issues. I began working with young people in 1993 when I was a teacher. I ventured into counseling five years later to have more counseling time with students and parents.
