My ideal client is someone who is dedicated to coming to session and be open to exploring new ideas and perspectives. Clients are able to reflect and be open to self-discovery and learning new methods to improve how they are feeling. Clients who are experiencing severe trauma, stress, or just need to have someone to talk is ideal. View 6 Photos As a social worker, I look at the whole person to identify causes of stress and symptoms and help clients unpack how they are feeling. I have experience using evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interview. I take an eclectic approach as well. The hardest part of meeting with the therapist is opening up and feeling comfortable. My goal is to foster a relationship that feels safe, warm, and welcoming. The client drives the session, and my role is to identify use techniques that work with the client and their situation.
