With an educational background in Criminal Justice and Social Work, Belinda is also a committed member of the National Association of Social Workers. Belinda has 5 years of experience in a variety of settings such as, child welfare, crisis counseling, adoption services and school settings. Belinda works with a variety of clients, including adolescents, young adults and women suffering from domestic violence and sexual assault. Belinda uses trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, parent-child psychotherapy, while also incorporating meditative practices, relaxation techniques and similar strategies. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients realize their full potential. Many of us have experienced trauma in our past years that continue to impact our daily living. Perhaps if we talked more openly about issues that impact our daily lives, the stigmas will decrease. I aim to help my clients face the reality of the past while reducing or eliminating trauma symptoms, work towards focusing on the present, reclaim personal power and gain skills that prevent relapse.
