About

When we can accept the past, we no longer have the need for a different present. (Douglas Abrams, The Book of Joy). I have worked in mental health for over the past 15 years. My experience has been diverse and has brought to the place that I am now. I use a Client centered approach and believe in individualizing therapy for each of my Clients. One size does not fit all in the world of therapy. I view therapy as a form of self care and preventative health care. I try to change the perspective of mental health treatment and therapy and often work with Clients that are entering therapy for the first time.

I believe in helping my Clients build insight into their emotions, thoughts, actions, and bodies. I work from a trauma informed and trauma sensitive perspective. I am particularly interested in health care for women and perinatal mental health. I work with expecting parents, those dealing with miscarriage and loss, and also infertility.

I have experience working with Clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, self esteem issues. I often see Clients with reports of feeling "stuck." I enjoy working with these Clients to adjust and navigate problems and barriers in their lives. I am trained in EMDR as well.
