I am a licensed clinical social worker with fifteen years of experience in the mental health field. I utilize a mindfulness, body-centered approach when working with adults and couples. My expertise is in working with adults who struggle with what feels like "stuck" or resistant patterns which can often result in depression, anxiety, and hopelessness. Some of the issues I find most supported by a body-centered psychotherapy include, chronic fatigue and burnout, disordered eating/chronic dieting, addictive behaviors, trauma, unsatisfying relationship patterns, and challenging life transitions. I am proudly trained in Hakomi Body Centered Psychotherapy as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), both of these therapeutic techniques work on a nervous system and somatic level which research shows impacts change much more effectively than cognitive or talk therapy alone. There is a natural tendency within all people to want to move towards a balanced and healthy life; to let go of patterns that keep us in a frustrated and depleted state of existence. Part of being human is to come across challenges that can be difficult to navigate without guidance and support. Body centered psychotherapy is a powerful tool for healing.
