About

Most therapy clients want relief from distress. Using 30 plus years of experience, I offer prompt assessment and intervention. My focus is on where you wish to go rather than your history. My clients may want to reach a goal, overcome a problem or be effective with relationship issues. They may be feeling lost or simply stuck and need help moving forward. Their distress may involve depression, anxiety, trauma or grief. My work shifts the attention from what is wrong with you to greater attention on your strengths, resources, goals and hopes. It is collaborative and optimistic. Our work together begins in the first session.

My work includes therapy, coaching and psychoeducation. I use research from the field of Positive Psychology about what is right with you. I explore individual strengths, balance in life and purpose. Research from The Institute of HeartMath is also used, particularly for stress reduction and emotional eating.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation. Finding the right therapist for you is key to success. I listen to your story and talk about my approach to help you determine if we are a good fit. (Some situations do need a different approach.)
