I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and I consider myself a "person centered" therapist who believes that the key to having a successful professional relationship is building a strong rapport with my clients. Since obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston College in 1996, my career work settings has included community mental health centers, hospital based gero-psychiatric units, emergency services, private practice and residential treatment centers. I use Mindfulness Based CBT, Insight-Oriented Work, Solution-Focused Therapy, Grief/Loss Work and Psychotherapy with adults (45 and older) in order to assist them in identifying and utilizing their own strengths and skills. Areas of specialty include: Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and Adjustment Disorders which encompass life changing events and difficulty adapting to new life situations (ie: occupational related stress, chronic medical issues, relationship difficulties, death/dying, memory deficits and dementia).
