Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
I have significant experience in the fields of Human Services, Criminal Justice, and Clinical Social Work. I have expertise in working with clients whom have mild to severe clinical psychological needs. Focus areas of my work include, but are not limited to, independent treatment of mood dysregulation, co-occurring and dual diagnosis disorders, personality and addictive disorders, legally mandated clients, anger, grief and loss, as well as family and couples work. I take great pride in practicing as a professional, but also as a "real person" with real life experiences both personally and professionally. My strength is in quickly building a trusting rapport with clients; setting them at ease with a genuine personality, friendly smile, open mind, and compassionate heart. I work to encourage and challenge client's patterns of thinking and behavior(s). I create an accepting and supportive environment using Positive Psychology, EFT, CBT, and MI. I offer an understanding of cross-cultural competence and efficacy. I enjoy working with people with cultural differences through the use of open, honest, and genuine communication that allows for increased understanding of the other, and working collaboratively to find the similarities that build strength in the therapeutic connection and alliance.
